Christmas

For Christmas, I didn't have much of a plan. The owner of the hostel in Seoul called me and said he had a party. Unfortunately, I had to work on Christmas Eve. When I got off, I drank with a Korean friend of mine. Cleared all the beer from the refrigerator. So my Christmas eve was Chicken and beer (chimaek) which is a pretty Korean thing to do I suppose.

Christmas day me and my friend John decided to go to Jinju. We didn't have much of a plan, other than to get out of Samcheonpo for the day. We wanted to see a movie if possible. First we went to eat. It took us a while, but we found a place called Han's Deli. Had a bread bowl pasta, a tortilla/nacho cheese pizza, and chicken balls (kind of like chicken nuggets, not actual testicles). It was surprisingly filling. I like to eat Western food whenever I leave Samcheonpo because I eat Korean food pretty much every day here. When we were walking in, they had some people giving out free hugs. I decided if they were there when I left, I would get one. They were still there, it seemed like there were 20 people giving out hugs. I got one and it was pretty cool, might have been the best part of the day. We went to the movies, but they were sold out until 7:40 for Les Miserables (it was 3:00 at that point) We said fuck it and walked around for a bit.

We had been told before that this wine bar in Jinju was a major hang out spot for foreigners. We went after the Thanskgiving dinner and were the only ones there. We went Christmas day and it was the same thing. To be fair, it was like 4:30, but still, it's Christmas! We looked on Facebook and found some people meeting up at an Italian restaurant at 7:00. We decided to crash their party. We got there, and everyone filtered in until there were about 7 other people there. The food was good, but it took almost an hour and a half to get my lasagna all the food was brought out at different times, pretty shit service if you ask me. But we had a good time and met some cool people. Talked about chaturbate, made a bunch of jokes, had a few beers. Typical Christmas dinner I suppose.

Most people left after dinner, but two others were down to go do some stuff. We ended up at a popular bar for foreigners. One of the guys, Steve, was really cool. We were just talking shit to each other all night, which is pretty rare because a lot of people can't seem to take a joke around here. I actually had to give in, he might be one of the best shit talkers I've met. Everybody liked him, from the taxi driver to the owner of the bar, who knew him by name. We weren't able to stay long because we had to catch the last bus to Jinju at midnight but we had some soju and cider (delicious drink) and just generally hung out and had a good time. Now I actually know some cool people in Jinju. I'll definitely be going there more often.

Teacher Training

Every year, Hagwon (private school) teachers have to go to training. Thursday was my turn. It was from 9:00 AM-1:30 PM. Which was really cool because I had to get up at 7:30 to catch the bus and make it in time to the place. It was at a college in Jinju. It was pretty boring but they had some cool dance performances, and we left at 11:45 instead of 1:30. However instead of getting good western food we had to get shitty barbeque with my friends boss and her daughter. Her daughter was pretty cool but shes going to school to be a coroner. I guess somebody has to do that job. I took some pictures and a few videos

Busan

I went to Busan last weekend. It was my friends birthday and naturally he wanted to leave Samcheonpo. He invited a bunch of people to go to Busan, but it only ended up being me and one of his Korean friends that went. Due to my friend always being late for everything we didn't get to Busan until around 5 PM.

Our hostel was in Haeondae area which is a famous beach area in Korea. It's one of the richest places outside of Seoul. Lots of Audis, Beamers, and Benzes driving around. The hostel was really corporate. Key deposit, had to sign a paper, stuff like that. Comfortable enough though. We were pretty hungry, so we went to a place called Wolfhound that was supposedly good. It was alright, I had Toad in the Hole but that's pretty hard to mess up (it's sausage and mashed potatoes). The chicken wings were small and my double vodka water tasted like a single. I usually get pretty strong drinks in Korea so this kind of sucked. The Korean guy didn't like his fish and chips at all but they were ok, just not to his taste.

Next we got some Korean food and drank some soju. Looking back this is where it all started. But that's usually how interesting nights start, with a lot of soju. It was around 9 PM by the time we finished and we wanted to go to a club but it was early. Instead we went to Texas street, which is the foreigner street of Busan. It's kind of like Itaewon in Seoul. But unlike Itaewon, which has one district called "Hooker Hill," at night time Texas Street basically turns into hooker hill. Nothing but juicy bars and Russian girls walking around. After eating at another restaurant and having a lot more soju and beer, we started walking around. My friend owed me from my birthday in Seoul, so we went to a juicy bar with a bunch of Filipina girls. My girl was pretty nice but we weren't there long. I don't like juicy bars, they're a waste of money. We tired of that pretty quickly and left.

We went to this club called Hive. They had three go go girls dancing there that night. It was crazy, one of the better clubs I've been to. Crowded, but plenty of room to dance, and everyone was having fun. I was pretty drunk but my friend was in another world. He actually fell asleep in a club, which was impressive. The girls were pouring drinks into guys mouths it was really cool. I ended up eating off someone else's fruit plate because I was so thirsty. We left about 4:30 because I had danced so much.

The next day we had to check out at 11 AM sharp. Not sure what to do, we went to the beach. It was a beautiful day and actually kind of warm. We just chilled there for a while before going to the worlds largest department store. I've been to Herrods in England but this place in Busan is MASSIVE. It's got 12 floors. It's so big it has a park, ice rink, Madame Tussaud's, and a cinema inside. We spent a lot of time there. I actually got a sandwich on rye bread which was really cool. Don't think I'll be able to get that in many other places. Since I'm kind of broke the only thing I bought was a Korean textbook I've been looking for. We left Busan around 6 or 7. Here's a bunch of pictures and bonus videos of the dancing girls.

I put a dollar in the juicy bar. I'm long dong wong

                                          Every club should have that

I told the Korean girl working here that this was my twin and she laughed in my face :(
